A Coaching Case Study – feelings of uncertainty about how life is moving forward

A feeling of uncertainty about how life is moving forward is a common experience for a lot of people.

Careers, relationships, families – all can bring up questions:

Should I stick with what I am doing, or should I change?

How do I balance certainty, risk and happiness?

What are my responsibilities to both myself and my family?

I help clients move through transitions in their lives, helping them get clarity on their values, options and priorities – building rock solid confidence to make decisions on the best way forwards for them.

Jason’s journey demonstrates well the outcomes that can be achieved.

🦁 CASE STUDY: From Public Servant to Coaching Identity

Jason came to me with a big question:

Do I stay working as a government employee, or do I build a coaching practice that reflects who I’ve become?

Over a number of coaching sessions with me, that initial question evolved into something deeper — a journey of life integration, confidence, and personal transformation.

🎯 The Challenge

Jason was navigating multiple identities:

An experienced government employee

A father and partner seeking presence and balance

A newly trained coach building his practice from scratch

Jason felt pulled between Coaching, Family, and Career—like living inside a triangle.

💡 The Journey

I worked with Jason to un-pack and deeply understand his current situation, using that understanding to help him map out what was right for him across his own needs, values and relationships

We playfully reframed perfectionism and self-doubt using metaphors such as the kitchen sink and the bubble wand – a metaphor for letting go of rigid expectations and embracing flow

We developed an alter ego: “The Lion” — representing confidence, presence, and groundedness

We built up the layers of understanding from his values upwards, resulting in grounded confidence in the right way forward

🧠 The Outcome

Jason moved from questioning himself to being enough.

From fragmented thinking to integrated living.

From doubt, worry and confusion to clarity and calm.

“I hadn’t realised how much weight I was carrying until I had the opportunity to unpack it”, Jason said. “Each session left me feeling lighter, more confident, and more in control of the path ahead.”

✨ Why Share This?

Because most people experience conflict between priorities at some point in their lives.

Transformation isn’t always scary or difficult.

Sometimes it’s balancing a triangle.

Sometimes it’s a lion.

Sometimes it’s a quiet moment of clarity that says:

“I understand more clearly now, I’m ready.”

Sometimes it’s a fun journey of self-discovery. I can help with that journey for you.

If you’re feeling pulled between roles, identities or futures, my coaching can help you find your centre and move forward with truth.
